Default Thinking about hosting with you.

Hello,
Thanks for the excellent articale on site templating.
Your intelligence and efforts, plus the fact that I appreciate and enjoy you guys down under ( and your helping us fight the terrorists ).

Can you please tell me do you do hosting for US customers ?
How would I pay just with my charge card ?

Also, I want to set up a Mysql and PHP system ideally importing all my tables and data from MS access.

Can I do a direct remote ODBC connection with your server from access to Mysql on your host ? If not how would I import and export the data between them ?

What version of MY SQL and PHP do you guys run ?

Thanks

Hello,

I'm glad that you found my tutorial useful.
We do host US customers, however my credit card processor (paysystems) has recently closed down it's merchant facilities. This means that at present, the only option for you to pay is via paypal.

The direct connection that you mentioned is unfortunately not possible. However, there are many ways to convert access data to a mysql database. See http://www.faqts.com/knowledge_base/view.phtml/aid/6154 for a few ways to achieve this. I'm happy to work with you to find the best solution to this problem.

Importing back into access would be as simple as using phpMyAdmin to export the data as a csv file, then importing this directly into access.

Our server uses RedHat 9 with cPanel 9.9.8. PHP is version 4.3.4, and MySQL is version 4.0.20.

If you have any questions please do not hesitate to ask.

Also, please remember that we have a free 7 day trial so that you can try out services before you buy. Please see http://www.infernohost.com.au/hosting/trial.php for more information.

Cheers,

One other note, the prices listed in the site are in Australian Dollars (AUD).

If you let me know which plan would suit you I can give you a quote in USD.

Cheers,

Default Thanks

Hi James, I should be back to you in a couple of days.
I currently have two accounts at a host and I am working with them to see if they can take care of what I need. If they can't ( and proably even if they can at some point) You will be my first stop and probably my host. Prepaying by Paypal is no problems.

take care
Ross
